Included Courses and Training
This program includes the following components:
• Umpire 101: An Introduction to Umpiring Baseball
A foundational course covering the basics of baseball officiating, including rules, terminology, mechanics, positioning, and game management. This course prepares new umpires to understand what’s happening on the field and how to carry themselves professionally from day one.
• Introduction to Youth League Officials
A Youth League Officials–specific course outlining how our organization operates, expectations for umpires, scheduling, communication standards, professionalism, and what it means to work games with YLO.
• 2026 Preseason Training Course
Required for all umpires working during the 2026 season. This course covers current rules, points of emphasis, mechanics reminders, and real-game situations to ensure consistency across our staff.
• 2025 Preseason Training Course (Included at No Additional Cost)
Provided as an optional review resource. While strongly encouraged, completion of the 2025 preseason course is not required for new umpires joining for the 2026 season.

Upon completion of each course, a certificate will be emailed to you automatically.
